RYA PERSONAL WATER CRAFT (pWC)

Food Safety

This Royal Yachting Association (RYA) course is a competency course for the use of Personal Water Craft (PWC) and teaches the core skills needed for the safe use of a jetski and other PWCs.

Who is this course aimed at?
This course is for anyone interested in using a jetski for leisure, whether a first time or experienced rider. The participant receives a proficiency certificate which is increasingly required at launch sites in the UK and abroad.

Is this qualification accredited?
The course is overseen by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA). The proficiency certificate is valid indefinitely.

Are there any entry requirements?
None.

What will I be doing on the course?
Teaching will include:
• Launching, handling and recovery skills
• Passage planning and decision making
• High and low speed riding skills
• Essential safety information
• Collision avoidance
• Orientation at sea

How do I study the course?
The course takes place at The Training Centre at Lusty Glaze Beach in Newquay, Cornwall. The course covers a mix of land-based teaching and practice on the water.

What's included?
All tuition: use of Waverunner jetskis; all personal protective equipment; plus tea/coffee and a light lunch

One day

Group Size:
This course requires a minimum of two people to run. Maximum group size is six people.
