CIEH Nutrition level 2

Food Safety

CIEH Level 2 Award in Nutrition gives catering staff all the information and advice they need to prepare nutritious food, develop healthy recipes and to respond to customer concerns and questions.

 

Who is this course aimed at?
The qualification’s flexibility allows people working in a diverse range of catering backgrounds to benefit; from school caterers and those working in the care sector, to restaurant and hotel staff. The qualification would also benefit GCSE students taking relevant food and health subjects.

Is this qualification accredited?
The course is designed by the Chartered Instituteof Environmental Health (CIEH) and is accredited by the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority (QCA).

What will I be doing on the course?
The qualifications cover the following topics:
• The relationship between nutrition, diet and health
• The nutritional requirements of different population groups
• Current policy, legislation and voluntary guidelines
• The effects of food processing on nutrient content
• Nutrition labelling

How will I be assessed?
Multiple choice examination.

How do I study the course?
The course takes place at The Training Centre at Lusty Glaze Beach in Newquay, Cornwall. The course can also be arranged at business premises or the venue of your choice, subject to minimum group numbers.
