HSE 2 Day Refresher

This is a refresher course for people who have completed the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) First Aid at Work training course aimed at employees of companies and organisations. The HSE First Aid 2-day refresher course has been developed in conjunction with the HSE to provide employees with updates on first aid protocols and the skills necessary to deal with a range of injuries and potentially life-threatening situations.

Who is this course aimed at?
Anyone wishing to gain the FAAW qualification, or just improve their first aid knowledge.

What will I be doing on the course?

- How to summon help.
- The legal responsibilities.
- Roles & responsibilities of a first aider.
- Principles & priorities of first aid.
- Primary & secondary survey.
- Dealing with the unconscious casualty.
- Possible causes of a loss of consciousness.
- Resuscitation & choking.
- Dealing with bleeding, breaks & burns.
- Contents of a first aid kit, accident reporting, positive aid.
- RIDDOR reportable incidents/accidents.
- Scene assessment / incident management.

How do I study the course?
Over a period of two days, minimum contact time 12 hours.

What can I do after the course?
Seek employment as a qualified first aider, help save a life.

How long is the award valid for?
3 Years.
