The Fire Marshall training course teaches general fire awareness, how to spot fire hazards and what to do in the event of a fire in a workplace.

Who is the course aimed at?
Persons designated with responsibilities in the event of a fire in a workplace. Although generic and all encompassing the course can be adjusted to suit your needs, whether you work in an office, factory, the leisure and tourism industry or are involved in indoor and outdoor events.

What will I be doing on the Fire Marshall course?
The session includes classroom theory as well as outdoor practical, and is composed of the following core elements:
• The fire triangle and general fire awareness
• How to carry out a simply dynamic fire risk assessment
• The different types of fire fighting media, what type of extinguisher should be used on what type of fire
• Practical fire fighting exercise on simple controlled fires
• Crowd behaviour in an emergency, and how to respond to a fire
• Lessons learnt from previous incidents, site and location specific hazards
• The importance of raising the alarm and evacuating the premises

Who teaches the course?
The Fire Marshall course is taught by professional fire fighters, with years of experience helping to ensure you leave with the right information, to aid you and your colleagues should a fire break out in your work place.

How long is the course?
Four hours

How long is certification valid for?
Two years

How much does it cost?
£60pp. Courses require a minimum number of people to run
