Royal Life Saving Society Beach Trainer Assessor Award
This RLSS course is the only one currently running in the UK. It enables successful candidates to become trainers and assessors for the National Beach Lifeguard Qualification (NBLQ).
Who is this course for?
Candidates must be qualified, experienced beach lifeguards who have the physical ability and water knowledge to teach prospective beach lifeguards. Candidates must be RLSS members. Background in instruction, teaching or other modes of delivery / assessment preferred.
Who regulates this course?
This award is regulated by the Royal Life Saving Society - the national governing body for lifeguarding.
What will I be doing on the course?
Learn advanced beach lifeguard techniques, and best practice for the teaching and assessment of potential beach lifeguards.
What can I do after the course?
On successful completion candidates will become probationary RLSS Beach Trainer Assessors, allowing them to work as a trainer or assessor at lifeguard training centres in the UK.
How long is the course?
Six days intensive.
Where is the course held?
Our scheduled courses take place at the National Lifeguard Training Centre at Lusty Glaze Beach in
Newquay, Cornwall. But we are able to run the Beach TA course at venues accross the country for groups of four or more people.
Is there an exam?
There is no exam as such but there are ongoing assessments and a final evaluation to ensure candidates reach the required standards and meet certain criteria to gain this qualification.
